Today we read a book call Footprints in the Snow. We
observed how the different footprints looked and tried to guess what animal
made the prints on each page. My plan was to finger paint so they could see
what kind of prints their hands make. One of the children had an even better idea,
which every child decided to do instead. They used our plastic animals to make
footprints in the finger paint. This is an example of how you can let the
children guide their own work, and it will mean more, and can even be a better
idea than your original plan.
