I love our picnic in the park day! It is so much fun to watch the kiddos show off their friends to their parents. It is also great to watch the parents form relationships with each other. There is nothing better!! It is great, important, and I feel worth fighting for. That is what it seems to be every year a fight! I always have many parents that are excited about it, then I have families, and even some coworkers that don't think it is as important as I do. We have working parents that count on us for childcare... I get that I do, but if they do come and see the joy in their child's face I think they would agree this is an important annual activity that needs to stay!! Besides all of that my preschoolers deserve it!! They have worked so hard all year, and this is a great treat for them. After all the drama from this years picnic I said fine I give up no more picnics... but after watching the children play, hang out with their families, and the pure joy on their little faces I have changed my mind. This is worth fighting for and I will continue to do so :o)
