Daily Update - Mom

This week is all about one of our favorite people... Our Mom!!  We will be working on many special things this week for our Muffins for Mom Party on Friday.  Our blog is going to be very short this week, because we don't want to ruin the surprises we are working on!

Daily Update - Cinco de Mayo

We finished our piñata! It looks good, but not for long... we will be busting it open tomorrow! We talked about sun/moon art, which is very popular in Mexico. I put pictures down the middle of the easel, and it was awesome watching them paint. They would look at the pictures and say look I'm painting a sun. I'm making a moon. Doesn't this look like that? It was a lot of fun to watch them! During Circle Time we listened to a Skippyjon Jones book on CD. We practiced color words, counting to 10, and we encouraged them to say Adios Amigo as they went to Centers.

Daily Update - Cinco de Mayo

Hola! We are having so much fun learning about Mexico and learning a little Spanish! The children are getting pretty good at counting to 10. We painted our Piñata today, we will be adding tissue paper fringe tomorrow, and smashing it on Friday. We made some patterns with red and green paint dots. We played a game at circle time with our blanket from Mexico; all of the children closed their eyes and we would tap one child on the shoulder to go hide under the blanket. The children then had to try and figure out who was missing. They loved it, but they weren't very good at not peeking!  We also celebrated a Birthday Today!

Daily Update 4/30/13

Today has been a pretty exciting day! Thank you very much to our freind who brought in her kittens for us to pet, they were so sweet. We all got to wear a huge sombrero that another child has brought in to share with us for the week, thank you very much to that family as well! Miss Carina also brought in her bright colored blanket from Mexico, the kids loved it. We looked at what the flag looks like in Mexico and even painted with red and green to make our very own.

Daily Update - Cinco de Mayo

This week our theme is Cinco de Mayo. We will be talking about Mexico all week. We added a fun blanket from Mexico to our Dress Up Center and hoping to add a sombrero or two, if anyone has one they would like to let us borrow that would be awesome! We counted to 10 in Spanish and learned a few more useful words. We will also be learning how to say color words in Spanish this week. We started a piñata today.
