We read What
Grandpas Do Best and What Grandmas Do Best.
I asked the children what does your Grandpa or Grandma do best? Here are some of the answers: Play on the
Play Set, Give me lots of love, watch me play in the sprinkler, go swimming, go
on the boat, go out to eat, crashing boats (bumper boats), mows with the
lawnmower, go outside and play with the motorcycle that has batteries, and play
with me. Our grandparents are pretty
special around here. We worked on our
letters again. This is a long process,
but will be so worth it when we start getting our mail back from our grandpas
and grandmas. You can still bring in
grandparent addresses if you haven’t done that yet, we will mail them on Friday. We also made our own lunch!!

Daily Update - Families
Who are the best and most important teachers in your child’s
life? If you answered their parents you
would be right!! Don’t ever sell yourself
short, believe in the decisions you make and teach with your heart. This week we are talking about the very
special people in our lives our families!
I was reminded today by a 3 year old not to forget about our 4 legged
family members, and of course they are a huge part of our families. If you would like to bring in pictures of
your 4 legged family member please do so, I know the children would love to
share those too! We started working on our grandparent letters today. We also celebrated a Birthday!
REMINDER: Grandparent letters will go out Friday so please
remember to bring in their addresses ASAP, and don’t forget the family
pictures!

Daily Update - Understanding Feelings
To be a good
friend it is important to understand feelings.
You need to be able to look at their face and see if they are sad,
happy, angry, excited, frustrated… Then you would know if they need a hug, or
need a hand, or just want to play and have fun!
We made feeling faces, and at the playground we made bubbles with our
friends!
REMINDERS: Book
Orders due Friday. No School Monday Happy Labor Day! Family Picture due
Tuesday, and Grandparent addresses due by Wednesday!

Daily Update Rainbow Fish (sharing)
This week our
Theme is Friends. We will be learning
what a friend is, how we can be a good friend, and talking about some of the
things we like to do with our friends.
Today we read my favorite book about sharing: The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister. After we read our book I asked the children,
what are Friends for… Building, Playing Horsey, Sharing stuff, Going to my
house, playing with the boys, buying a blue tractor, play, Green John Deere
Tractors, Playing, and I like to play at my house… I will ask again Friday and
see if their answers change at all. At
table time the children were given a fish outline, tissue paper squares, glue,
paint, and a piece of foil. REMINDER:
Book orders are due Friday, August 31st.
