Daily Update Zoo

This morning Carson's Mom joined us for breakfast and circle time. Thank You Shari for coming in! I know that Carson was proud to show off what he does at school! We used our green play dough that we made on Monday to make cages for our zoo animals. A chunk of play dough and some small craft sticks made some pretty great zoo cages! They did have a little trouble making it tall enough for the giraffe! We also turn a horse into a zebra with a big marble and some black paint!

REMINDER: Friday, April 6 will be our Hop-A-Thon and Easter Party starting at 10:30. Please, be sure to return your envelopes by then and bring in your dozen filled plastic eggs. Thank You!

Daily Update 3/22 eXercise and Yoga

Today we read a book about Fruit. We learned that every fruit has to have a seed, (some you can eat and some you can't) we also found out that some things you think are vegetables are really fruit because they have seeds. Tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, squash, Avocado... All fruit! We did something really fun with fruits and vegetables today, we painted with them! We did Yoga in the Motor Room again. The children are loving the Yoga Cards! Their favorite poses are the dog, the waterfall, and the tree! Miss Tiffany was our Yoga Instructor today! She put her legs behind her head! She is Crazy Flexible. The kids were amazed and tried to do it too. Very funny to watch!

Daily Update eXercise and Yoga

We read a book about Vegetables, and talked about which vegetables were our favorite. The children looked at pictures of different food items today and decided if they were good for you or not good for you. We went to the motor room and did some Yoga poses. At table time we made a bowl of "salad." We talked about how important it is to make your salad colorful, and you should always choose to eat all different colors of vegetables.
REMINDER: Our Field Trip to Hy-Vee is Friday, if you are going with us, please, be here by 9:00. If you are not going with us, please, remember to leave your child's car seat.

CLC Daily Update eXercise and Yoga & Grocery Store

Today we talked to the children about the Dairy Food Group. Foods that are in this group, and why they are important for our body. We worked together during our table activity to plant some vegetables in our Root View planter. We planted carrots, green onions, and radishes. CLC Grocery store is still up and going. The children have turned the grocery store into a whole sensory experience. They found that the strawberry milk powder and coffee smells really good when you open the lid, but the vinegar not so much!

REMINDER: Our field trip to Hy-Vee is Friday we will be leaving at 9:00.
