Daily Update-Traps and Leprechauns

Today we made art with rainbow colored cereal. It was a good fine motor activity and sensory experience the children loved the way they smelled and tasted... We tried to tell them it was only for art, but there were a few that got past us! We did 5 little shamrocks and played our movement shamrock game.

We painted rainbows with q-tips today.  We read the book What Makes a Rainbow while the children were painting.  Most of the children painted with every color of the rainbow, and some even painted with the colors in order... Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and Violet :o)

This is one of our Favorite Themes!!  They are still talking about the leprechauns from last year!  Today we practiced our cutting skills.  We also started planning our traps we will be making at the end of the week.  At circle time we did a finger play called 5 Little Shamrocks, and played a Shamrock Movement Game.

Daily Update - Space

We read a book called On The Moon.  Before we read our book we asked the children what kind of things do you think you might find on the moon, here are some of the answers we got: Moon Rocks, Dirt, and astronauts.  We made a special Moon Paint to paint with.  It was made with shaving cream, glue, glow in the dark paint, and a little yellow paint... It may or may not glow in the dark.  We will have to check that out tomorrow.

Daily Update - Outer Space

This week our Theme is Outer Space.  Today we read a book about our planets, we made Alien Play Dough, and made craters in our sand sensory table.
