Daily Update Earth
Thank You to all of the families that joined us for our Science Night/Book Fair. I hope you had as much fun as I did. The volcano was a highlight of the night, I never get tired of seeing their excited expressions when it erupts!! Today we learned a song about Recycling, and we talked about what that word means. We did some recycle art by using paper towel tubes to make the trunk of a tree and then added green scrap paper leaves.
REMINDER: Don't forget to turn in your permission slips and money for the field trip. I still need drivers and helpers to join us. Miss Catrina will be packing sack lunches for all of the children, but I am asking that the adults bring their own sack lunch. Thank You so much! I have never planned such a big field trip, but I think that the children are going to love it!! Please call or e-mail if you have any questions.

Daily Update Earth
We continued to talk about the Earth and what things we can do to help protect the Earth. Our conversation today started out by talking about Trash. Trash belongs in the trash can and not on the ground or in the water. One of the children said if we threw our trash in the water then it could hurt the ducks. It also makes the water dirty! Another child said that if we throw trash on the ground it may hurt the plants. They all agreed that you should throw your trash in a trash can, and if you see trash on the ground we should pick it up and throw it away. We practiced our cutting and tracing skills today by tracing a circle on blue paper and cutting it out, this was our ocean. We added puffy green paint for the land and made our own Earth.
REMINDER: We would love to see everyone tonight for our Science Night/BOGO Book Fair. We have some guests coming in to talk to us about nutrition and baby massage. We also have some fun activities planned for you to do with your child.

Daily Update Earth Week
We had an awesome first day back! The children were so excited to see each other, and I heard I missed you so many times today. That made my heart happy for sure :o) Such sweet little children we have at CLC! This week we are celebrating Earth Week. We will be learning about the Earth, what it means to recycle, and how important it is to take care of the Earth. Today we made our own mini Earth's out of paper plates. Some choose markers and some used paint to make their Earth.
REMINDER: Saturday is our Parade and we would love to have all of the children ride the float or walk with us!! Ask the office for costume information. We are going to The Funny Farm on Wednesday, April 25th I put a permission slip in your child's cubby. Return the permission slip and your money by Monday, April 23rd. Thank You!!

Daily Update Easter Week
Today we made color resistant Easter Eggs. We colored them with crayons and then painted over them with some watered down paint. If they colored hard enough the paint did not stick where the crayon was. We also played some Easter Games in the motor room. We did an egg/spoon relay race, we pushed a plastic egg with our noses, we played catch with a partner and tried not to crack our eggs, and then we did the bunny hop game again that we played yesterday.
REMINDER: Hop-A-Thon and Easter Party is tomorrow starting at 10:30. Please, bring an Easter Basket for your child to use during the egg hunt, your MDA Donation Envelope if you collected any money for the Hop-A-Thon and a dozen plastic filled eggs. If a brother or sister is coming to the party we are happy to have them join the egg hunt just bring an extra dozen eggs. The plan is for every child to find 12 eggs :o) Thank You! One more thing CLC will be closed all next week for our Spring Break. We will see you on Monday, April 16!
CLC Update Easter Week
This week has been about Easter Fun! We made finger painted Easter Eggs, and fluffy white bunnies. Yesterday we had a little added excitement to our day, we heard the Tornado alarm go off outside while we were eating lunch and had an unexpected Tornado Drill. Miss Amy also came yesterday and played some fun games with us. We pretended we were bunnies hopping around to music, when the music stopped you had to hop in to a rabbit hole and hide from the fox. We also played some games with balloons.
Today we made Thank You Cards for a WWII Veteran named Laura Carter. Mrs. Carter was an Aviator Mechanic. One of our preschool mom's from last year, Tracy Eichler, will be going on the Honor Flight with her and asked if we would be interested in drawing pictures, or writing a letter for mail call when they return from Washington DC. Of course we were honored to be asked. All of the children made 2 Thank You cards today, and I added a picture of the child to the card. I will also be writing a letter to include telling her about our program and how special our children are. The children are always excited to send mail to soldiers. We would also like to welcome our new student Elijah or Eli is what we have been calling him because we now have 2 Elijahs.
REMINDER: Hop-A-Thon and Easter Party this Friday starting at 10:30 A.M. Bring in your MDA Donation (optional) and a dozen plastic filled Easter Eggs for our Egg Hun
